MRH at Girls and Boys State

Rising seniors Odessa Javier, Graham Colvin, and Jordynn Phipps attended American Legion Missouri Boys State and American Legion Auxiliary Missouri Girls State at Lindenwood University in late June. MBS and MGS are week-long programs where rising seniors create their own, fully functional government and learn important leadership and citizenship skills. Along with creating their own government, students must also fill the needed roles to keep their governments running. Odessa served as the MGS Governor’s Press Secretary, Graham served as the MBS General Counsel to the Governor, and Jordynn was elected on to her MGS County School Board. The combined programs host around 1,600 students from all over Missouri, and we were so glad to be able to send three students this year.
